These diseases need to be treat on time in-order to prevent body from uncontrolled effects.

Hence, to make you aware of skin problems here we will guide you on how to identify serious and usually not known skin diseases.

Acne :

Acne, also known as acne vulgaris. It is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. Acne is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring. It primarily affects areas of the skin with a relatively high number of oil glands, including the face, upper part of the chest, and back. The resulting appearance can lead to anxiety, reduced self-esteem and, in extreme cases, depression or thoughts of suicide.

The severity of this disease can be classified as mild, moderate, or severe. As this categorization helps doctors to determine an appropriate treatment regimen. Mild acne is classically defined by the presence of clogged skin follicles (known as comedones) limited to the face with occasional inflammatory lesions. Moderate severity acne occur when a higher number of inflammatory papules and pustules occur on the face compared to mild cases of acne and are found on the trunk of the body. And Severe acne occur when nodules (the painful ‘bumps’ lying under the skin) are the characteristic facial lesions and involveme.

Primary risk factors for the development of acne, other than genetics, have not been conclusively identified.

Possible secondary risk factors include hormonal changes, infections, diet and stress. One important thing identified in research study is that sunlight and cleanliness are not associated with the acne.

Warts :

Warts are typically small, rough, and hard growths that are similar in color to the rest of the skin . They typically do not result in symptoms except when on the bottom of the feet where they may be painful. While they usually occur on the hands and feet they can also affect other locations . One or many warts may appear.
Warts are caused by infection with a type of human papillomavirus (HPV).

A number of types exist including: common warts, plantar warts, filiform warts, and genital warts. Genital warts are often sexually transmitted.

Filiform or digitate wart, a thread- or finger-like wart, most common on the face, especially near the eyelids and lips.

Psoriasis :

Most irritating skin disease Psoriasis is a long-lasting autoimmune disease characterized by patches of abnormal skin. These skin patches are typically red, itchy, and scaly. Psoriasis varies in severity from small, localized patches to complete body coverage. Injury to the skin of psoriasis patient can trigger psoriatic skin changes at that spot, which is known as the Koebner phenomenon.

There are five main types of psoriasis: plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular, and erythrodermic.

    • Plaque psoriasis, also known as psoriasis vulgaris, makes up about 90 percent of cases. It typically presents as red patches with white scales on top. In this type of disease areas of the body most commonly affected are the back of the forearms, shins, navel area, and scalp.
    • Guttate psoriasis has drop-shaped lesions.
    • Pustular psoriasis presents as small non-infectious pus-filled blisters.
    • Inverse psoriasis forms red patches in skin folds.
    • Erythrodermic psoriasis occurs when the rash becomes very widespread, and can develop from any of the other types.

The main thing observed in psoriasis patients is their fingernails and toenails get affected at some point in time. This may include pits in the nails or changes in nail color.

Lupus :

Lupus is a serious disease which can affect any person. It is most often diagnosed in young women, between the ages of 15 and 44. While the cause of this disease is not known. Lupus is an autoimmune disease – in which your immune system attacks healthy cells by mistake and can potentially damage many parts of the body. There is no known cure for lupus, but effective treatments are available.

A chronic and complex autoimmune disease, lupus can affect the joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels, causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organ.

Vitiligo :

The skin disease Vitiligo is a long-term skin condition characterized by patches of the skin losing their pigment. The patches of skin affected become white and usually have sharp margins. The hair from the skin may also become white. It can be involved inside the mouth as well as nose. In this disease typically both sides of the body are affected. Also, areas of skin that are exposed to the sun start getting affected and patches begin on that area. Vitiligo is more noticeable in people with dark skin. The symptoms of this disease may result in psychological stress and those affected may be stigmatized.

The cause of vitiligo is typically unknown. It is believed to be due to genetic susceptibility that is triggered by an environmental factor such that an autoimmune disease occurs.
